chaosvizierSome of you are old timers, and this is not your first rodeo. You remember the Old Ways. But some of you might be new, and wondering what's happening, and what to do, and what not to do. So, a FAQ for your benefit.
1. "How do we do this?"
Easy peasy lemon squeezy! On Tuesday a quiz will show up. It usually contains 6 questions: 5 trivia and one freestyle. There is a link on the quiz that says "REPLY". Click on that and leave your answers. Comments are screened so no one can see your answers. You have until COB Friday to submit.
2. "Do I need a Dreamwidth account?"
Nay! All you need is the link to the quiz. If you don't have an account, your name will be anonymous. Feel free to leave some kind of pen name, code name, nom de plume, nom de porn, whatever.
3. "What's the cost?"
No cost, good people of Earth! The quiz is free to play, unlike anything Electronic Arts ever did. All it costs is a little time and the energy necessary to fire up your humor-based brain cells.
4. "What's the angle?"
About 69 degrees, hurr hurr.
5. "No really, what's in it for you?"
For us? It's the laughs. Not only do we get laughs reading answers, but we share laughs with everyone else. And a good laugh is worth a lot. Especially nowadays.
6. "Everyone's just going to google the answers to the questions; why bother?"
Because those people are BOOOOOOOORING. A toddler can google the answers. Hell, we use google to come up with the questions sometimes. That's not the point. How do you make the answer funny? Or better yet, how do you make the wrong answer, or your own lack of knowledge, funny? That's where the true magic lies.
7. "I'm not sure I feel funny enough."
We all have off days and weeks and what not. Fair enough. Feel free to watch and observe (and laugh) as we post the weekly answers. You may eventually feel that confidence that, yes, you really can do this and yes, you can be funny too.
8. "Who are you people anyway?"
We're above the System. Over it. Beyond it. We're "them." We're "they." We are the Men in Black.

No wait, that's not right at all.
We're just regular folks with a sense of humor and some time on our hands. Individually we are AL and CV and EW but when our powers combine we are the Moderators and... yeah, that's about it. I was going to go on about "unlimited power" and "become Death, the Destroyer of Worlds" but let's face it, that's all horse puckey.
9. "What is the air speed velocity of an unladen swallow?"
Now you're getting the hang of it!
10. "Is this all some sinister Illuminati plot?"
Oh darn, you caught us, guilty as charged.
