There is the fermented shark; nothing says YUMMY like eating shark that has been left to ferment for 6 months.

Also in Iceland they eat Puffin; THAT BIRD IS NOT FOR EATING! (though it is rather nice in a nice creamy sauce, or so I have heard)

Welcome to the club -- me too! (But we're getting there ... right?)

(BTW, the answer I missed? #6, where -- like you -- I also wanted to be the sun. Only you were funnier about it. *mock-glares*)

*snicker* I actually went with the tried and true on #1, because all other answers I came up with were way too convoluted and probably only remotely funny in my own somewhat twisted mind. As more or less expected, it got me at least a groupquote. :-)

DWDQEU score: 17/47

Personal score: 5/6, +1/-1 and my first-ever (I think) Geek of the Week. Getting close to that full score, woohoo!

As for Skye and whisky ... last time we were up there, we actually stayed at the inn right across the street from the Talisker Distillery -- which would've been quite convenient for going wild during the obligatory tasting after the tour. However, after sampling a handful of their whiskies, I had to admit that I simply can't stand the stuff, sorry. (Or pretty much any Islay whisky, for that matter.) Hence the strikethrough. Give me a nice, smooth MacAllan 18 single malt any day!

I'm with you. I love most scotch, but Islay is just too peaty for me. My friend loves it though. Apparently he really enjoys the experience of drinking a bonfire!

My husband likes Laphroaig (he also used to drink Lapsang Souchong tea years ago. Ew!), but like me drew the line at Talisker. :-) Best whisky we ever had? Back in the 80s, I came across a bottle of The Macallan from 1963. So it was ~25 years old at the time, not exactly cheap, but affordable for a special occasion -- like graduating from Uni. One word -- smooooooooth!!

(You can still buy it ... for £ 6,750 a bottle. I think we have maybe two shots left in ours ... hmm ...)
